Review Roundup #1

To start the year off, I chose to take a short look at 3 fairly new series that caught my eye. Those 3 manga being A Witch’s Life in Mongol, Tower Dungeon and Akane-banashi. Now that I’ve read 2 volumes from each of these 3 series, I felt it would be a waste to not talk about them at a bit more length in the field where I feel most natural, that being the blog.

Now, I usually only do reviews for a series I either finish or make significant progress in, so doing a review for only 2 volumes might usually be pointless, especially because of the amount of depth I like to go into. That can be remedied if I just put 3 shorter reviews together into this one larger blog post.

This is what I’m calling a Review Roundup, where I do a shorter review for multiple manga I’ve been reading. Mostly for when I start a new series.

Let’s begin!

Research Topic ~ Hirohiko Araki Before JoJo

Early Days for Hirohiko Araki

It’s not uncommon to see that some mangaka spend much of their careers as authors writing their defining series for so long, it spans across decades, becoming synonymous with the author themselves and representing them almost entirely.

Hirohiko Araki is inextricably linked to his almost 40 year old magnum opus, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. He had started writing the series when he was 27 years old, 7 years into writing manga.
